Question:
Does an abnormal Pap smear always need treatment?

Answer:
No, but the condition does need to be closely monitored. See Pap smear.

Question:
Can a Pap smear sometimes miss cervical cancers?

Answer:
As with all medical tests, a Pap smear is not 100% accurate. Pap smears are less likely to miss cervical cancers if a woman has one every year on a regular basis.
