School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, the School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography is an 18-month program based at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital which prepares students both clinically and theoretically for careers in Diagnostic Medical Sonography – more commonly known as ultrasound.
School of Nurse Anesthesia
Established in 1970, Wyoming Valley Health Care System/University of Scranton School of Nurse Anesthesia is a 25-month program which received a full 10-year accreditation in 2002 by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA). In 1999, an affiliation was formed with University of Scranton to offer a Master of Science Degree with a Major in Nursing. The program boasts a 90 percent passing rate for first time takers of the Certification Exam and a 93 percent passing rate for second time takers.
